PMS exam centres shifted from Rawalpindi to Lahore over security

LAHORE: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has decided to shift the examination centres for compulsory papers of 1,216 candidates of PMS 2025 from Rawalpindi to Lahore in view of the prevailing security situation.

The decision was taken in a committee meeting chaired by Member PPSC, Mirza Sohail Aamir. After final approval by PPSC Chairman Lt-Gen (Retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, Secretary PPSC, Afzaal Ahmad, has issued the formal notification in this regard.

According to Deputy Director PPSC, Syed Kazim Muqaddas Kazmi, the 1,216 candidates of PMS 2025, including 754 male and 462 female, who were scheduled to appear in examinations from 24 April to 26 April, 2026, at Government Gordon Graduate College, Liaqat Road, Rawalpindi, and Government Associate College for Women, Jhanda Chechi, Rawalpindi, have been shifted to Lahore due to the current security situation in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The examinations will now be held at Divisional Public School (DPS), Model Town, Lahore, to provide a conducive environment for the candidates. According to the spokesperson, the candidates are advised to download their revised/updated admission letters from the PPSC website after 2:00 PM on 21 April, 2026 and ensure their presence at the new exam centre as per the given schedule.

Talking to The News, Kazim Muqaddas said majority of the candidates appearing for exam in Rawalpindi were not from that particular district and they could come for exam to Lahore and plan accordingly as exam would be held in the provincial metropolis from April 24 to April 26, 2026.
