LAHORE: The Sports Journalists Association of Lahore (SJAL) held its Annual General Council meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday in which its office-bearers were elected unopposed for next two-year term.
The elected office-bearers are President Aqeel Ahmed, Secretary Yousaf Anjum and Treasurer Afzal Iftikhar. The elections were conducted by a three-member election commission comprising Farrukh Ata Butt, Sarfraz Ahmad and Rafiq Khan.
Earlier, Secretary Yousaf Anjum presented a detailed report at the General Body meeting covering the association’s activities over the past two years. The report highlighted successful collaborations, including the London Media Match, and expressed gratitude to PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Director Media Aamir Mir and other officials for their support in promoting sports journalism.
The association also congratulated Amjad Aziz Malik on being appointed as Lifetime Honorary Executive Member of the Association of International Press, terming it a proud achievement for Pakistani sports journalists.
