ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday declared null and void the decision issued by the Ministry of Commerce regarding the elections of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).The court set aside the ruling of the secretary of the Ministry of Commerce pertaining to the KCCI electoral dispute and remanded the case back to the appellate authority for a fresh decision.
A bench of the IHC directed the secretary of the Ministry of Commerce to hear all parties involved and issue a new decision within 60 days.The appellate authority shall decide the case afresh after providing an opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties,” the court ordered.
The ruling came on a petition challenging the ministry’s previous decision on the KCCI election matter.Further details of the case were not immediately available.The court disposed of the matter with the direction for a fresh hearing by the appellate authority.
