ISLAMABAD: Pakistan went down 1-0 to Mauritania in their FIFA Women Series clash at the Alassane Outtara Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday.

Fresh from a record 8-0 victory over Turks and Caicos in their opening match, Pakistan created several chances, but a superb goal from Ramata Gengui proved to be the difference as Mauritania bounced back from an 8-0 reverse against the hosts Côte d’Ivoire. Mauritania took the lead in the 20th when Gengui volleyed a cross from the left into the bottom corner from outside the box.
