LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club’s 39th Day of the Winter Meeting 2025-26 will be held on Sunday evening, featuring a six-race card comprising Class VII contests of various divisions. The highlight of the programme is the prestigious Eid Cup which is expected to attract considerable attention from racing enthusiasts.

The races, scheduled over distances of 900 and 1,000 metres, have drawn competitive fields with several promising contenders expected to battle for honours under floodlights.

The opening race, the Class-VII Division-VI & VII (Maiden) over approximately 900 metres, appears to be a good opportunity for Dogar Choice to break through. Carrying 8-11, Dogar Choice has been installed as the race favourite. Good Boy is tipped for the place position, while Hassan Star is considered the likely upset candidate. The remaining field comprises Ragnar, Hamdan Prince, Biscuit, Quiz, Mohtarma and True My Love.

The second event, a Class-VII Division-V, VI & VII contest over 900 metres, has attracted a large field of eleven runners. Fayyum has been selected as the favourite based on recent form, while Lucky Macs is expected to challenge strongly for a place. Classic Mystery is regarded as the race’s fluke and could surprise if reproducing its best performance. Other runners in the race include Sher Dil, Babbar Sher, Phyari, Bilal One, King Asia, Self Belief, Haseeb Thrill and Sosig Go.

The third race, a Class-VII Division-IV & V sprint over 900 metres, is expected to revolve around Construct Craft, who has been tipped as the day’s best bet in this division. Raja The Great is fancied for a place finish, while Absolutely Not is the preferred outsider. Zaman Sahib, Fallen Prince, Hero and Lex Lugar complete the field.

The feature event of the evening, the Eid Cup, will be contested over 1,000 metres and includes horses from Class-VII Division-II along with eligible runners from Class-VI Division-IV. Crown Pharaoh has emerged as the leading contender and will carry top weight of 9-2. Tomorrowland is expected to provide the strongest challenge and is rated as the principal place prospect. Wynx has been nominated as the race’s fluke and could emerge as a surprise package if conditions suit. The remaining challengers, Sher Khan and Pakiza, will also be aiming to upset the calculations in what promises to be a closely fought feature race.

The fifth race, a Class-VII Division-II & III event over 1,000 metres, has Sarkar Raj as the favourite.Mister Sardar is expected to finish prominently, while Moni K Chahat has been identified as the likely dark horse. The race also features Forbidden Love, Brigadier, Paddington and Little Master.

The concluding race of the evening, a Class-VII Division-III & IV contest over 1,000 metres, appears tailor-made for Cinderella’s Dream, who has been installed as the favourite. Vartika is tipped for a place finish, while Haseeb Warrior has been selected as the fluke candidate capable of springing a surprise. The remaining runners in the final race are Falco, Gul-e-Jalal, Imperius and Emerging Star.
