LAHORE: The 32nd Day meeting of the Lahore Race Club on Sunday will be highlighted by the Khyber Cup, a Class VI race over 1200 metres, which promises to be the most competitive contest of the card.
With six races scheduled, the remaining five are Class VII events divided across different divisions, ensuring a full evening of variety and excitement for racing enthusiasts.
The opening race, a Class VII Division VI & VII contest over 1000 metres, sees Fakhar-e-Sardar tipped as the favourite, with Good Boy expected to place and Shanzy considered the fluke chance. The field includes seasoned runners such as Dar Prince (8-12), Mirza Prince (8-12), Hassan Star (8-8), Power Up (8-3), Shera Choice (8-1), Bilal One (8-0), Silent Melody (7-8), I Shall Lead (7-8), making it a wide-open affair.
In the second race, also over 1000 metres, Construct Craft is the favourite, while Lucky Macs is expected to challenge for the placings. Eden Queen is the fluke selection in a field that also features Tiger of Sultan (9-0), Absolutely Not (8-10), Zarbi (8-8), Zaman Sahib (8-2), Black Fire (8-0), Zindagi (7-10), Anni Power (7-10), American Star (7-10).
The third race, a Class VII Division IV event, has Safe Bet as the favourite. Shareeka is tipped for a strong run, while Fayyum is the fluke pick. With contenders like Bellatrix (9-0), Be A Man (9-0), Haseeb Warrior (8-0), Raja The Great (7-10) in the lineup, this race could produce a surprise.
The day’s feature, the Khyber Cup (Race 4), will be run over 1200 metres. Crown Pharoah is the favourite, with Perfect Again expected to place and Sher Khan considered the fluke. The field includes notable entries such as Macs King (9-3), Professor (8-13), Nisha (8-12), Feel My Love (8-1), Dubawi’s Angel (7-11), Khokhar One (7-10), American Gambler (7-10), making this the standout contest of the meeting.
Race five, another 1200-metre event in Class VII Division I & II, has Sikandar as the favourite, with Queen of Pharoah tipped to place and Ameera as the fluke. Competition is also expected from Ex Gambler (Krc) (9-0), Lord & Lion (8-2), Princess Barcelona (8-2), New York City (7-10), Sarkar Raj (7-10).
The final race of the day, a Class VII Division II & III contest over 1000 metres, sees Tomorrowland as the favourite. Dubawi’s Dream is expected to place, while Amanah One is the fluke selection in a competitive field that also includes Metro Queen (8-13), Pakiza (8-10), Best Call (8-8), Mister Sardar (8-8), Zaid Prince (7-10).
