PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Khateeb, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, on Wednesday announced to observe Friday (April 10) as a “Day of Thanksgiving” under the slogan “We Love Pakistan,” to celebrate what he described as Pakistan’s successful diplomacy in the Middle East and its role in achieving a ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

In his statement, he appealed to religious scholars and khateebs to highlight in their Friday sermons the role of Pakistan’s political and military leadership-particularly Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir-whose “wise and sincere efforts,” he said, helped avert large-scale destruction across the Middle East, including Iran.

The chief khateeb urged that special prayers of gratitude be offered after Friday prayers for this “major achievement,” and called on the public to promote the message “We Love Pakistan” in every street and neighborhood.

He stated that countries seeking to isolate Pakistan internationally, especially India and Israel, are facing disappointment, as Pakistan’s diplomatic success in preventing an Iran-US conflict has been widely appreciated not only by Muslim countries but by the global community as well.

Maulana Qureshi called upon political parties and the nation to set aside differences in the larger national interest and work collectively for the country’s progress and stability. He emphasized that Pakistan is a “red line” and no compromise can be made on its security.

“The entire nation stands united like a solid wall alongside the armed forces against any threat,” said the KP chief khateeb.
