Power transformer theft cases rise in Hangu

HANGU: The incidents of transformer theft have increased across various areas of Hangu, sparking concern among residents after thieves dismantled a 100KV transformer in Bagh area and stole its valuable components.

According to residents, unidentified thieves struck in the darkness of night in Tamees Banda along Samana Road, cutting wires and removing expensive parts from a 100KV transformer installed in an orchard.

The accused also broke the lock of a room in the orchard and stole other valuables.Local residents, including Niaz Badshah, Tahir Zaman, and Aleem Khan, expressed serious concern and said that the theft had left the area without electricity, causing significant hardship for them.

They said the thieves carried out the crime with boldness and technical skill.The residents urged the Hangu district police office and other authorities to arrest those involved at the earliest and ensure the installation of a transformer.
