LAHORE: With RawalPindiz enduring a difficult debut season in the Pakistan Super League 2026, captain Mohammad Rizwan delivered a stirring motivational speech to lift the morale of his players after four consecutive defeats.

An official of the franchised revealed to The News that Rizwan urged his teammates to keep faith even in the toughest of circumstances, drawing on his own experience as captain of Multan Sultans, who famously bounced back from a poor start to clinch their maiden PSL title.

“Champions think they will be in the final as long as there is even a 0.001 per cent chance. Keeping hope that they will win in the final, God willing,” Rizwan said. He reminded the squad that Multan had lost their first four matches in that campaign but went on to win every game thereafter, including the Qualifier and the Final.

Rizwan emphasized that the key was not to fear defeat but to fight with the mindset of champions. “So don’t put your heads down even if there is a one per cent chance of winning. We will keep putting up a fight.

It is not a problem if we lose. If we fight like champions and still lose, it’s not an issue,” he told his players. He also encouraged the team to stay united off the field, urging them not to isolate themselves after poor performances but instead to enjoy outings together and maintain camaraderie.

The newest PSL franchise has lost all four of its opening matches, leaving them with only an outside chance of making the playoffs. With five league games still to play, Rizwan’s rallying cry is aimed at ensuring his side competes with resilience and belief, regardless of the odds.

Rizwan’s words reflect his leadership style—calm, inspirational, and rooted in faith and perseverance. While RawalPindiz face a daunting task to revive their campaign, their captain’s message has set the tone: fight hard, stay united, and keep believing, even if the chances are slim. Whether RawalPindiz can script a comeback remains to be seen, but Rizwan’s motivational speech has ensured that his team will continue to play with heart and hope in PSL 2026.
