MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved 44 development projects worth over Rs34.85 billion across various sectors for the financial year 2025-26.
The fourth meeting of the AJK Cabinet Development Committee, chaired by AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore approved three projects for the Education Department, two for the Energy and Water Resources Department, and one each for the Information Technology and Food departments.
During the meeting, four projects of the Public Health Department, one of the Higher Education Department, and 35 of the Communication and Works Department were presented. On the occasion, important decisions were taken to equip the youth with modern IT skills, expand basic public facilities, strengthen healthcare system, upgrade educational infrastructure, and improve efficiency of the road network.
The committee also approved the construction of 30 kilometres of roads in each constituency across AJK. Additionally, the establishment of IT Excellence Centres was approved to create employment opportunities for the youth. Furthermore, approval was granted for the installation of grid stations at Patika (Tehsil Naseerabad) and Jabi (Bhimber).
The meeting also approved the construction of flour storage warehouses at multiple locations across AJK and sanctioned construction of additional classrooms at the primary level to address space shortages in educational institutions.
