LAHORE: The Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation (PMWF) has strongly criticized the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) following its 36th Board Meeting, where the Pakistan Padel Federation was reportedly granted interim affiliation.

PMWF President Nawab Furqan Khan expressed deep concern, calling the move a violation of the National Sports Policy and the PSB Constitution, and raising questions about transparency and fairness in sports governance.

Nawab Furqan Khan highlighted that the PSB’s own Public Notice/Circular No. F.20-2/2022-PSB(NF), issued on January 27, 2026, clearly outlines mandatory requirements for affiliation. These include SECP registration, performance records, and completion of administrative and legal formalities. He argued that ignoring these conditions while granting interim affiliation undermines the credibility of the PSB and creates uncertainty for other federations. He stressed that Rule 20 of the PSB Constitution provides a clear framework for affiliation, and any deviation from it damages institutional integrity and fairness.

The PMWF president expressed frustration that his federation has been applying for affiliation for several years, fulfilling all legal requirements, yet continues to be ignored. He noted that the federation faced unnecessary hurdles in obtaining NOCs and was even forced to approach the courts, where the High Court issued orders in its favour. Despite this, delays and procedural obstacles persisted.
