KARACHI: Unilever Pakistan Ltd has partnered with the Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) to expand employment opportunities for the deaf community, as companies step up efforts to build more inclusive workplaces.
Under the agreement, FESF will support recruitment through its Deaf Reach network, helping Unilever hire deaf candidates across its salesforce and wider value chain, the company said. The initiative includes sign language interpretation during hiring, pre-employment training for candidates and workplace sensitisation sessions for staff. Unilever will also conduct Pakistan Sign Language training to improve communication between employees.
The move is aimed at creating a structured pipeline for inclusive hiring while addressing workplace barriers, including communication gaps and unconscious bias.The collaboration is part of Unilever’s broader push to strengthen diversity and inclusion across its operations.
