FIA arrests Red Book human smuggler

LAHORE/GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a human smuggler listed in the Ministry of Interior’s Red Book in connection with illegal migration operations linked to a Libya boat incident.

According to FIA officials, the suspect, identified as Waqas Ali alias Waqas Butt, was arrested by the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle Gujrat during a raid in Majra Shumali, a suburban area of Gujrat. He was listed at serial number 84 in the Red Book and wanted in four cases.

Separately, the FIA Lahore Zone conducted operations in Faisalabad and Nankana Sahib, arresting three suspects identified as Faisal Hussain, Nadeem Zia, and Bashir Ahmad for their alleged involvement in migrant smuggling and visa fraud. In another case, the FIA Lahore continued its crackdown on counterfeit goods manufacturers, arresting two suspects, Suhail Sabir and Mansoor Khalil, during a raid in Anarkali Market.
