Gold prices drop Rs7,100 per tola

KARACHI: Gold prices fell by Rs7,100 per tola on Thursday, following a decline in the international bullion rates.

The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) said 24-karat gold dropped to Rs486,962 per tola, while the price of 10-gram gold fell Rs6,087 to Rs417,491.

The prices dropped by $71 in international markets, where gold settled at $4,642 per ounce. Local prices in Pakistan are typically benchmarked to global rates with a premium of $20 per ounce.Silver also retreated, with the per-tola price falling Rs350 to Rs7,634. The 10-gram rate declined Rs300, closing at Rs6,544.
