Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic martyrdom of Inspector Yasir Arafat of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), who lost his life in a road accident on the Hazara Motorway while performing his official duties.
In a formal condolence statement, the Federal Minister hailed Inspector Yasir Arafat as a national hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving humanity, said a press release.
"The entire Ministry of Communications stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult hour," the Minister stated, praying for the departed soul and for the family to bear this loss with fortitude.
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasised that the welfare and care of the martyr’s widow and children would be the foremost responsibility of the department. Taking serious notice of the incident, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure action against the negligent truck driver responsible for the fatal accident.
