Rawalpindi:A Special Judge of the Anti-Corruption Court has sentenced two brothers, Zulfiqar Ahmed and Ayaz Ahmed, to 10 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs1.5 million each for depriving their sisters of their rightful inheritance.
The accused were found guilty of preparing fake documents, including an indemnity bond and affidavit, to grab their sisters' share of the family property. The plot in question, located on Saidpur Road, Satellite Town, was illegally transferred to Ayaz Ahmed's name.
The sisters, Shahida Iqbal, Fehmida Jabeen, Farida Kausar, and Munza Shabbir, had filed a complaint alleging that their brothers, along with a deceased sister, Farida Butt, had colluded with officials from the Housing and Town Planning department to forge inheritance documents.
The court, presided over by Khawar Rashid, convicted the brothers under Sections 520, 468, and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code. In default of payment of the fine, the accused will serve an additional nine months in prison. The court also granted them the benefit of Section 382B of the Criminal Code, allowing their detention period to be counted towards their sentence.
The prosecution was represented by Abdul Samad, Additional Prosecutor General Punjab, and other officials from the Anti-Corruption Establishment.
In another case, Rawalpindi sessions court has sentenced two accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs2 million for raping a 15-year-old girl. The court has also ordered the victim to pay Rs2 million in compensation. The Civil Lines Police Station registered a case against Zahid Ali and Muhammad Osama in May 2024.
After the trial was completed, the court sentenced both the accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million each for raping them. The court has also ordered the victim to pay Rs1 million in compensation.
