Islamabad:The Islamabad Police have implemented a comprehensive security grid across the federal capital, deploying a heavy contingent of police and paramilitary forces to safeguard sensitive installations and the high-security Red Zone.
This intensified security posture comes as the city hosts a critical meeting of foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkiye, necessitating stringent measures to ensure the safety of international delegates and local residents alike.
To oversee the implementation of these protocols, senior police officials conducted extensive field inspections at various duty points and religious sites, including several churches, to coordinate with personnel on the ground.
During these briefings, leadership emphasized that security screenings must be both effective and purposeful, focusing on the proactive protection of life and property. Officers have been placed on high alert with strict instructions to maintain constant vigilance, conduct thorough inspections of suspicious individuals and vehicles, and report any irregularities to central command immediately.
The week-long security sweep reached a massive scale as the Islamabad Police executed 48 grand search and combing operations throughout the capital.
These operations utilized a force of over 4,000 officials to maintain law and order and neutralize potential criminal threats. The scope of the crackdown was expansive, involving the verification of 4,188 individuals and the inspection of over 1,800 houses, nearly 100 hotels, and hundreds of commercial establishments and vehicles.
As a result of these intensified efforts, authorities took 221 suspicious individuals, including 21 foreign nationals, into custody for formal verification.
