Islamabad : On the invitation of the Pakistan-China Business Forum (PCBF), a high-level 20-member delegation comprising prominent Chinese industrialists, investors and representatives from the tourism sector visited Pakistan from May 12 to 19.
During the visit, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Commerce and Industry Haroon Akhtar Khan and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, along with other senior government officials, emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral economic, industrial and tourism cooperation between Pakistan and China, says a press release.
The delegation was led by PCBF Co-Chairman Sheikh Ejaz Asghar, while Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mohyuddin Wani played a key role in the successful coordination and facilitation of the visit.
The Chinese delegation held meetings with officials of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Secretary of Pakistan Railways and representatives of various institutions, where discussions focused on investment opportunities in tourism, agriculture, electric vehicles, battery technology, mining and Special Economic Zones (SEZs). A business forum held in Islamabad brought together Pakistani and Chinese business leaders for discussions on bilateral trade, industrial collaboration and joint ventures.
