LAHORE: Zimbabwe’s seasoned all-rounder Ryan Burl has officially joined the Lahore Qalandars squad in Lahore and is available for selection in the upcoming matches of the Pakistan Super League 2026. Burl arrived early Sunday morning, giving the defending champions a timely boost as they prepare to face Karachi Kings later in the evening at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Burl, a left-handed middle-order batter and effective leg-spin bowler, brings a wealth of T20 experience to the Qalandars. With over 200 matches in the format, he has amassed around 3,750 runs and taken 97 wickets, making him a valuable dual asset. His aggressive batting style is expected to strengthen Lahore’s middle order, while his ability to deliver crucial overs of spin adds balance to the side.

The Qalandars have assembled a diverse overseas contingent this season. Alongside Burl, the squad features: Rubin Hermann (South Africa), Daniel Sams (Australia), Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh), Parvez Hossain Emon (Bangladesh), Dunith Wellalage (Sri Lanka)

This blend of international talent provides captain Shaheen Shah Afridi with multiple options across batting and bowling departments, enhancing the team’s flexibility in match situations.

Lahore began their PSL 2026 campaign on a winning note, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen in their opener. The addition of Burl further strengthens their lineup as they aim to build momentum early in the season. Tonight’s clash against Karachi Kings is expected to be a high-voltage encounter, with Burl’s availability offering the Qalandars an extra dimension in both batting depth and bowling variety.
