PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday ordered the officials to strengthen and make more effective and responsive the Right to Services and Right to Information commissions.
He issued the directives while chairing a meeting of the Right to Services Commission to review progress and undertake key decisions aimed at ensuring timely and efficient delivery of public services.
The chief minister emphasized the need for institutional integration of the commission with relevant departments, declaring it essential for improved coordination and service delivery outcomes.
He instructed that the digitization of the commission be expedited to enhance system efficiency, integration, and responsiveness.
The chief minister stressed the importance of proactive public awareness to ensure that citizens are fully informed and able to benefit from the available services.
Earlier, the meeting reviewed and endorsed a roadmap to strengthen the commission and directed the appointment of commissioners to enhance institutional capacity.
A detailed briefing was presented covering the commission’s background, objectives, organizational structure, functions, and performance.
It was stated that currently 80 services across 14 departments had been notified under the commission, while the inclusion of an additional 89 services from 15 departments was underway.
Participants were informed that a public feedback mechanism had been introduced.
It was stated that the commission had been integrated with the Dastak platform, and its mobile application launched.
The participants of the meeting were told that multiple complaint registration channels are now operational, including email, phone calls, and WhatsApp, enhancing accessibility and citizen engagement.
A comparative analysis of the past two years was also presented, indicating substantial improvements in service delivery and grievance redressal.
It was informed that during 2025, a total of 742 complaints were resolved, reflecting a 150 percent increase compared to 2024.
