Govt makes check-ups mandatory for all gazetted officers

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed officers in Grades 17-22 to undergo mandatory medical examinations.

The Establishment Division has issued a formal office memorandum in this regard, making it compulsory for officers to submit their medical reports.

According to the directive, officers across all ministries, divisions, departments and institutions are required to complete medical check-ups and submit reports. Officers have been instructed to ensure submission of their reports by April 30.

The Establishment Division further stated that federal officers in Grades 17 to 22 must undergo medical examinations and formally submit their reports, which will be included as part of their official service records. Officers belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), Office Management Group (OMG) and Secretariat Group have been directed to submit their reports by March 31, while officers from other service cadres must comply by April 30.

For officers based in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, focal persons have been designated at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad to facilitate the process.
