RAWALPINDI: Noor Wali Mehsud, head of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), is currently being harbored by the Afghan Taliban in a highly secured area of Kabul, according to credible security sources on Thursday.
Sources indicate that Mehsud is residing inside a multi-story building located within Kabul’s heavily guarded Green Zone, also known as the Diplomatic Enclave, which houses key government and foreign missions. The area is considered one of the most secure locations in the Afghan capital.According to the same sources, the presence of other occupants within the building is allegedly being used as a human shield, aimed at ensuring Mehsud’s safety and deterring any potential targeted operation against him. Security officials have described the development as deeply alarming, arguing that it raises serious concerns regarding the continued facilitation and safe haven being provided to militant elements by the Afghan Taliban regime.
