PISHIN: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi said on Monday the rulers were not interested in Pakistan’s development but only in eliminating PTI.

He said that Pakistanis were self-respecting people and they and did not accept as prime minister someone who salutes Donald Trump.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that they wanted Pakistan to become a strong and prosperous country, with parliament as the supreme authority, and called for free and fair elections under an independent election commission.

Addressing a rally in Pishin, Afridi said they would oppose every policy that is not in the public interest. “When we criticise policies on Afghanistan made behind closed doors, we are told to go to Afghanistan. When we ask that the nation and parliament be taken into confidence on Iran, we are told to go to Iran,” he said.

The KP CM said there was only one true leader in Pakistan who is unjustly imprisoned in Adiala Jail — Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi. “I promise you we are neither bootlickers nor can any power in the world defeat or buy us. We will never disappoint you; you just have to trust us,” he told supporters.

Meanwhile, reports emanating from Balochistan said the provincial government had temporarily suspended mobile phone services in some parts of the province due to security reasons.

Balochistan Advisor on Home Department Babar Yousafzai said on Monday that the provincial government had decided to suspend mobile service keeping in view the security of citizens. He said the Balochistan government expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to people.

The Balochistan government had also temporarily suspended the train service due to security reasons on March 23, 2026.
