The News wishes its readers Eid Mubarik, while praying that this joyous occasion passes safely for everyone in the true spirit of love and brotherhood. Many families have been doing their best to uphold the spirit of Ramazan by sharing with the underprivileged even in these times of economic stress and that has been very uplifting. On top of that it has been somewhat comforting to see that people are out and about in an effort to celebrate in the traditional way and will try to do so throughout the three days of the festival.
But all things have an up and a down side. While celebrating is a good way to end our obligatory duties and enjoy the get-togethers with family and friends, we must give a thought to the thousands of families who are suffering and grieving from the ongoing conflicts and natural disasters that have taken so many lives. We pray for them and their departed loved ones and hope that time may bring solace from their grief and the conflicts resolved soon. Ameen.
