SUKKUR: An FIR regarding the alleged suicide of Dr Abdul Karim Sheikh has been registered against eight Health Department staff members, including the MS and a Section Officer.
Muhammad Sadiq, son of Dr Abdul Karim Sheikh, who allegedly committed suicide, has filed a case against eight Health Department employees at Mithi Police Station under Sections 316 and 34 PPC. He maintained that the accused, including nurses and other staff of Mithi Hospital, falsely blamed, harassed, and mentally tortured his father, Dr Sheikh, leading to his death.
He further stated that his father had submitted written complaints to a journalist and sent voice messages to the Secretary Health, Special Health Karachi, upon which an inquiry was ordered.
During the inquiry, some hospital staff members allegedly continued to harass his father, ultimately forcing him to commit suicide on March 14. Sadiq said his father had named those responsible for his death. After the post-mortem, the family took the body to Karachi.
