KARACHI: Owing to the Middle East war, 5 major airlines of the region have been able to operate only 6,610 flights in 13 days while a total of 20,690 flights were cancelled.
The daily operations of these airlines have been 2,100 flights. According to sources, March 1 was a bad day for the aviation industry in the region after the US-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28. Only 32 flights were operated.
The situation is improving gradually. According to FlightRadar data, 27,300 flights are normally operational in 13 days at a rate of 2,100 a day, but these airlines were able to fly only 6,610 flights in 13 days.
According to the data, 2,862 flights have been operated in 13 days against 530 daily flights of Emirates Airline, 508 flights against 330 daily flights of Etihad Air, 278 flights against 300 daily flights of Arabia, 1,569 flights against 340 daily flights of Flydubai and 393 flights against 30 daily flights of Qatar Air in 13 days.
