ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed hosted a special Iftar dinner for the children of Pakistan Sweet Home, with a large number of cadets from the Sweet Home Pre-Cadet College also attending the event.
Addressing the gathering, the NAB chief said caring for orphaned and underprivileged children was one of the most noble missions in life, adding that such efforts bring success in both this world and the hereafter. He expressed gratitude for being associated with Pakistan Sweet Home and pledged continued support for the welfare of its children.
He also announced plans to establish a new Sweet Home facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the near future. He urged the children to focus on their education and assured them that their other needs would be taken care of by the organisation and its supporters.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Sweet Home patron-in-chief Zamurd Khan said the NAB chairman had long been a strong supporter of the organisation and had played a key role in the establishment of the Mir Ali Centre during his tenure as corps commander in Peshawar.
“As long as compassionate patrons like Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed
exist in society, no child in the country would
remain without support,” he said.
He added that the achievements and continued expansion of Pakistan Sweet Home were the result of generosity of philanthropists and well-wishers who consistently supported its initiatives.
He said the establishment and management of Sweet Home centres were a blessing, and with the support of donors and volunteers, the organisation had expanded its services across the country.
