KARACHI: The chairperson of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has reaffirmed the port’s commitment to supporting uninterrupted regional and global trade amid the evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
In this regard, the Port of Karachi stands ready to facilitate international shipping lines by offering efficient transhipment services for cargo destined for ports across the region, contributing to the continuity and stability of maritime trade.
Demonstrating this capability, the vessels MV TS Tacoma and MV TS Sydney recently arrived in Karachi and discharged a large number of containers belonging to TS Line, Heung-A, Sinokor and several non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs) as transhipment cargo. The containers will subsequently be transhipped from Karachi to Jebel Ali in the Middle East.
KPT Chairman Rear Admiral (r) Shahid Ahmed said the Karachi Port Trust remains fully prepared to support the international maritime community by providing reliable, efficient and secure port services to sustain regional trade connectivity.
