Islamabad: There is a likelihood of rainfall accompanied by wind and thunderstorms in Islamabad and Rawalpindi early next week, while most plain areas of the country will witness dry weather and rising temperatures in the coming days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Thursday.

According to the PMD, current atmospheric conditions indicate that no significant rainfall is expected in the plains for the next several days, while a gradual increase in daytime temperatures is likely across much of the country through next week. The PMD warned that the prolonged dry weather could put pressure on water resources and seasonal crops, particularly the wheat crop in rain-fed areas.
