A 35-year-old woman died after being trapped under the debris when the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in the Shah Latif Town area.

However, the victim’s brother blamed her husband for her death. According to police, the incident occurred near Allah Wala Chowk in Jam Kandu Goth within the jurisdiction of the Shah Latif Town police station. The roof of a house under construction collapsed, leaving a woman critically injured under the rubble. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors later confirmed her death.

The body was subsequently shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Seema Bibi, wife of Ishaq. Police said the victim was a resident of Jumma Himayati Goth and the mother of four children. Officials added that her husband had contracted two marriages — he had six children from his first wife and four from the deceased.

According to investigators, Ishaq had recently purchased a house in Jam Kandu Goth and was carrying out construction work there. At the time of the incident, family members were spreading sand on the roof. Police said Seema reportedly felt cold and came down from the roof, sitting in a room beneath the same roof where the sand had been placed.

Authorities said the tiled beam roof could not bear the weight of the sand and collapsed, burying Seema under the debris and causing her death. Police conducted a detailed inspection of the site and recorded statements from eyewitnesses, who maintained that the incident occurred due to the roof collapse.

Officials said statements from the deceased woman’s children would also be recorded to determine the facts of the case. Meanwhile, Seema’s brother Shahzad claimed that his sister was tortured and murdered, alleging that her husband was involved in the killing. Further investigations are under way.
