Germany’s GDP rose to $4 trillion under the dynamic leadership of its former chancellor Angela Merkel, who was at the helm for 16 years. She was highly educated and held a PHD in chemistry. Merkel observed financial discipline both as a matter of policy and as an individual.
Her focus was on the development of Germany. Merkel was also a very vocal human rights advocate and respected religious freedom. She faced criticism for her sympathy towards immigrants. If only the ruling elite of Pakistan could adopt half the austerity adopted by Angela Merkel.
