ISLAMABAD: Orders have been issued approving several appointments, transfers, suspensions, and resignations involving officers of the federal bureaucracy.
According to notifications released by the Establishment Division, OSD Captain (retd) Muhammad Asif, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Printing Corporation of Pakistan.
Muhammad Abbas Khan, who was serving as Joint Secretary in the Communications Division, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary in the Economic Affairs Division. Meanwhile, Umar Rauf has been appointed as Director General (Telecom) in the Ministry of Information Technology on a three-year contract basis.
In a separate development, the prime minister has accepted the resignation of Syed Mohsin Abbas, who was serving as Legal Advisor (MP-1 Scale) in the Ministry of Defence. According to the official notification, his resignation will take effect from the date he relinquishes charge of his post.
Among other transfers, OSD Umran Mahmood, a BS-20 officer of the Police Service, has been posted to the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta). Section officer Seep Jan has been transferred from the Ministry of Interior to the Petroleum Division, while section officer Maryam Aslam has been moved from the Establishment Division to the Housing and Works Division.
Additionally, Hammad Hassan, a section officer, posted in the Ministry of Interior, has been suspended for a period of 120 days under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020. A show-cause notice has also been issued to him as part of the disciplinary proceedings.
