ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday kept the Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices almost static for March, snapping three consecutive monthly increases. However, reduced it by just 21 paisa per kilogram, according to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.
The regulator fixed the new consumer price at Rs225.83 per kg for March, down from Rs226.05 in February. The price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder fell by Rs2.52 to Rs2,664.88 from Rs2,667.40, while a 45.4 kg commercial cylinder dropped by Rs9.53 to Rs10,252 from Rs10,262. The revised prices took effect on March 1.
OGRA said LPG producer prices are linked to Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and the US dollar exchange rate. While Saudi Aramco CP remained unchanged compared to the previous month, the average dollar exchange rate eased by 0.11pc, resulting in a 0.09pc decline in consumer prices, equivalent to Rs2.52 per 11.8 kg cylinder.
The modest reduction follows three successive increases. In December 2025, OGRA raised LPG prices by Rs7.39 per kg (3.66pc). In January 2026, prices were increased by Rs10.69 per kg (5.11pc), followed by another hike of Rs6.37 per kg (2.9pc) in February.
