Pakistan hikes petrol by Rs8, diesel Rs5.16/litre

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has raised petrol prices by Rs8 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs5.16 per litre for the next 15 days, the Petroleum Division announced Saturday, adding fresh pressure on consumers.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, the new price of petrol (motor spirit) has been fixed at Rs266.17 per litre, up from Rs258.17. High-speed diesel (HSD) will now cost Rs280.86 per litre, compared with Rs275.70 previously. The revised prices have taken immediate effect and will remain applicable for the next 15 days.
