LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has entered a new era with the signing of a record-breaking media rights deal, hailed as the biggest commercial agreement in Pakistan’s cricket history.

The announcement was made by Salman Naseer, CEO of PCB/PSL, alongside Ahsan, representative of Walee Technologies, at a press briefing that outlined the league’s transition into its next decade.

Opening the session, Salman Naseer highlighted the journey of PSL from its inception to the present. He noted that despite challenging circumstances, the league had secured renewed sponsorship with HBL, extending their partnership for another two years. Franchise agreements were also extended for the next decade.

He revealed staggering commercial growth in-stadia sponsorship rights increased by over 1200% in 10 years, while title sponsorship grew by more than 500%.

He stated that the franchise valuations as well broke records repeatedly, with the addition of the 7th and 8th teams.

Representing Walee Technologies, Ahsan described PSL as Pakistan’s biggest cultural export of the past two decades. He emphasized that the investment is not just commercial but symbolic of faith in Pakistan’s future.

During the media interaction following the landmark broadcasting agreement, the PSL officials also addressed several pressing issues ranging from venue readiness to franchise ownership clarity and governance safeguards.

On governance concerns, PSL Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer addressed potential conflicts of interest, particularly in relation to team ownership and media rights structures.

He assured stakeholders that clear regulatory frameworks are in place to prevent overlaps and safeguard transparency within the league’s commercial operations.
