ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday met a parliamentary delegation from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), led by AJK Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Former AJK prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was present. The delegation briefed the president on the overall situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and discussed matters of mutual interest. The participants sought President Zardari’s guidance on party affairs and held consultations regarding future steps.

Fateha was offered for the late Barrister Sultan Mahmood, former AJK president. Zardari emphasized the need for national unity and a firm stance for the protection of Kashmiri people living under Indian illegal occupation, reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for their right to self-determination.
