ISLAMABAD: The Special benches of Islamabad High Court (IHC) decided 788 tax cases worth Rs506 billion. As per the annual report of IHC, the consequential administrative reforms were also introduced on the instructions of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.
The report said that from April 1, 2025 to February 4, 2026, Special Tax Benches decided 788 cases worth a total of Rs506 billion, 137 million, 37 thousand and 494. Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan decided 306 cases, it said, adding that Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Saman Rifat Imtiaz disposed of 304 cases. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas decided 178 cases.
The report said that more than 3,000 bail applications were disposed of in the Islamabad High Court last year.
All three additional judges of the Islamabad High Court were also confirmed simultaneously. The report said that Practice and Procedure Rules came into effect from February 4, 2025 and Islamabad High Court Establishment Rules 2025 were also notified.
The report said that 240 fitness certificates were issued for Supreme Court enrollment during the year 2025 and 457 lawyers were enrolled as Advocate High Court.
Additional District Judges Zeba Chaudhry, Abdul Ghafoor and Humayun Dilawar were promoted to the post of District and Sessions Judge.
More than three thousand bail cases were decided, SOPs were implemented for video link hearing.
