Rawalpindi:Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak visited Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), Rawalpindi on Monday and visited the injured in the Islamabad blast.

Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema, Director Health Dr. Ijaz, Assistant Commissioner City, MS BBH and other officers were also present on the occasion. Four people injured in the blast were undergoing treatment at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, one of whom has recovered and been discharged.

The Commissioner directed the MS to provide the best treatment and other facilities to the injured. Later, he reviewed various departments of the hospital, especially the emergency and the new registration counter established by the MS.

The Commissioner spoke to the patients present in the OPD and wards and inquired about the health facilities provided in the hospital from the relatives and friends who accompanied them. The Commissioner said that all the necessary medicines are available in sufficient quantity in the hospital and these medicines are available free of cost to the patients. He said that the announcements made at the registration counter regarding free medicines should also be made in the wards. He said that it is our responsibility to provide quality health facilities to the public. Also, in the light of the orders of the Chief Minister of Punjab, quality medical facilities will be ensured. He said that no negligence in the provision of medical facilities will be tolerated. The Commissioner directed the hospital administration to further improve the cleanliness situation. He asked the doctors for suggestions for the provision of quality medical facilities.
