Citizens deprived of cash, valuables

LAHORE : Several incidents of theft and robbery were reported in different areas of Lahore, where citizens were deprived of cash, gold jewelry, mobile phones, motorcycles, vehicles, and other valuables.

According to details, Rs265,000 in cash and a mobile phone were taken from Farooq in Misri Shah. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Rs235,000 in cash and a mobile phone were snatched from Rashid. In Mozang, Zafar was robbed of Rs225,000 and a mobile phone. In Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Rs215,000 in cash and a mobile phone were taken from Qaiser, while in the Factory Area, Zamir Ahmed was deprived of Rs200,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and other items.

Vehicles were reported stolen from Lorry Adda and Anarkali, while motorcycles were stolen from Sanda, Shalimar, and Burki areas.

335 criminals

arrested in 72 hours

The Dolphin Squad arrested proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and habitual criminals during the last 72 hours. According to a police spokesperson, security was kept on high alert in view of the prevailing national situation, and strict checking of suspicious individuals continued. During the 72-hour period, Dolphin Squad teams arrested 335 suspects wanted in various cases, including 31 proclaimed offenders. The arrested individuals were involved in multiple serious criminal cases.

The spokesperson said that 238 record-holders and 51 habitual criminals were taken into custody. In addition, 15 court absconders involved in pending cases were also arrested and handed over to the relevant police stations for further legal action.

SP Dolphin Akhtar Nawaz urged citizens to assist police by reporting criminal activities through helpline 15.

Meanwhile, the Dolphin Squad arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in attempted murder cases registered in Faisalabad. According to a police spokesperson, the suspect was taken into custody from Gulshan Ravi after being found suspicious.

Police said verification through the e-police application confirmed that the suspect, identified as Amir, was a proclaimed offender in an attempted murder case registered in Faisalabad. The arrested suspect was later handed over to Gulshan Ravi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
