KARACHI: Shan Shares, the corporate identity of Shan Foods, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SHINE Humanity to expand clinical facilities in Kunri, a rural area of Sindh’s Umerkot district.

The agreement builds on an earlier partnership between the two organisations and aims to improve access to basic healthcare services for farming communities in Kunri, known as one of the largest red chilli-producing regions. The initiative operates through the Shan Shares Shifah Gah, a satellite clinic run in collaboration with SHINE Humanity.

According to project details, the clinic provides general medical care, paediatric services and women’s health support. Plans are in place to increase staff capacity, including the addition of a female doctor, and to expand the number of clinic days to meet rising demand.

Data shared by the partners showed that in December 2025, nearly 69 per cent of patients visiting the clinic were women and girls. The most frequently reported health issues included musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, followed by infections, gastrointestinal problems, dermatological cases and respiratory illnesses.

The expansion is expected to reduce travel time and costs for local residents seeking medical care and improve early diagnosis and treatment in the area.
