NA speaker convenes business advisory committee meeting today

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has convened a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee today (Monday).

The meeting will be held at 4:00 pm, one hour prior to the National Assembly session. During the meeting, consultations will be held on the agenda of the 24th session of the National Assembly, which is scheduled to commence on Monday.

Parliamentary leaders and chief whips of all political parties represented in the National Assembly will attend the meeting. The Federal Minister for Law and Justice and the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs will also be present.

In the meanwhile, the National assembly Secretariat issued the 12-points agenda for the sitting of the National Assembly for Monday.

According to the order of the day for today’s sitting of the National Assembly, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar will move the Bill further to amend the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2002 [The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2025), as reported by the Standing Committee for the passage.]

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar to move the Bill to amend the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation Ordinance, 2002 [A, as reported by the Standing Committee, be taken into consideration at once for passage.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting to move the Bill further to amend the Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1973 [The Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Bill, 2025)], as reported by the Standing Committee, be taken into consideration at once and for passage.

The agenda also includes two calling attention notices, one by Anjum Aqeel Khan, who will draw the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with regards to Pakistani students stranded in Afghanistan due to closure of border, causing grave concern amongst the public and the other by JUI (F) legislators—Ms Naeema Kishwar Khan, Aliya Kamran, Muhammad Usman Badini and Shahida begum related to Ministry of National Health, Regulations and Services with regards to emerging of new polio cases in the country, causing grave concern amongst the public.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to introduce a Bill further to amend the Centres of Excellence Act, 1974 [The Centres of Excellence (Amendment) Bill, 2026].

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry will move a motion for discussion to express its deep gratitude to the President of Pakistan for his address to both Houses assembled together on 10th March, 2025.
