ISLAMABAD: The decision to boycott ICC T20 World Cup match against India would be taken up in Parliament and its various aspects would come under discussion.

Renowned jurist and Convener Pakistan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Group of National Assembly Mahmoud Bashir Virk MNA said rationale behind the decision would be highlighted in Parliament.

In a brief chat with The News here Sunday, Mahmoud Virk appreciated the decision of boycotting the match with India. “The decision is true reflection of people of Pakistan’s sentiments and their solidarity with the brotherly people of Bangladesh. India now must have realised that hearts of the two brotherly people throb in unison.”

The group members will discuss the development with their President Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today (Monday) in Parliament House. He said cricket lovers should raise their voice for the removal of the ICC chief who is “faithfully adhering to Hindutva agenda, instead of promoting cricket”. He said ICC chief’s decision to expel Bangladesh from the contest under the pretext of its demand for shifting the place of matches, could not be accepted.

He urged cricket-playing nations to “isolate India in cricket” over its unacceptable attitude towards the cricket playing teams representing countries which have political differences with India.
