11 newly confirmed LHC judges take oath

LAHORE: Eleven newly-confirmed judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) took the oath of their offices on Saturday.

LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum administered the oath at a simple ceremony held at the LHC main lawn.

The event was attended by LHC judges, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, federal and provincial law officers, members of the Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council, office-bearers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association, judicial officers, lawyers, LHC officers and family members of the newly-confirmed judges.

The judges who took oath include Justice Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Justice Malik Waqar Haider Awan, Justice Sardar Akbar Ali, Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Justice Malik Javid Iqbal Wains, Justice Muhammad Jawad Zafar, Justice Khalid Ishaq, Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid, Justice Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood, Justice Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and Justice Abher Gul Khan.

Chief Justice Aalia Neelum congratulated the judges on their confirmation and wished them success in the discharge of their judicial responsibilities.
