Rawalpindi:Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak has directed to form teams at the union council level to sweep their area completely and submit a detailed report within the next 24 hours.
He was chairing a review meeting of Performance Monitoring Indicators at the Commissioner Office.
The Commissioner said that manhole covers and cleanliness are prominently present in the performance monitoring indicators by the Chief Minister of Punjab because it is directly related to the public, therefore no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
In addition, in view of public safety, people should immediately report it to the relevant administrative office if they find a manhole open or broken anywhere. The commissioner directed that immediate redressal of public complaints received regarding manhole covers and cleanliness should be ensured.
All safety measures should be taken at project sites, giving top priority to public safety. Machinery or on-site work on the sites can cause accidents to common passers-by, so it should be fully covered and warning boards should be prominently installed.
