DADU: A severe cold wave continues to grip the scenic hill resort of Gorakh Hill Station in Dadu district, where temperatures have plunged between minus 4 and minus 5 degrees Celsius, causing water to freeze, officials said on Sunday.
According to the Gorakh Hill administration, the valleys of the hill station have been experiencing extreme cold conditions for several days, particularly during the night and early morning hours, when temperatures consistently drop below the freezing point. The freezing of water into ice has highlighted the intensity of the cold spell in the area. Despite the harsh weather, Gorakh Hill Station remains a major attraction for tourists as a large number of visitors flocked to the resort to enjoy the cold climate and natural scenery, the administration said.
Officials further stated that the effects of the cold weather at Gorakh Hill Station are also being felt in surrounding areas, with a noticeable increase in cold intensity across the region.
Gorakh Hill Station, often referred to as the “Murree of Sindh,” is one of the province’s most popular winter tourist destinations, especially during periods of snowfall and extreme cold.
