Arrangements finalised for country’s biggest cycling race

LAHORE: The Punjab Sports Department has finalized all arrangements to organize the country’s largest cycling ride and race in Lahore on Sunday (today).

The event will feature four segments: a cycle ride, a boys’ race, a girls’ race, and a children’s race, bringing together athletes and enthusiasts in a celebration of fitness and community spirit.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar will serve as the chief guest and is expected to participate in the cycle ride himself, alongside more than 500 cyclists. Senior officials including Secretary Sports Muhammad Ali, DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, and Director Admin Abid Shaukat will also be present, underscoring the significance of the event.

The cycle ride will begin at Liberty Chowk Manal, pass through CBD Kalma Chowk, and return to Liberty Chowk, creating a festive atmosphere across the city’s central routes. Meanwhile, the boys’, girls’, and children’s races will circle the Gaddafi Stadium, starting from the Nishtar Park Sports Complex entrance and finishing in front of the stadium.
