Islamabad:Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the third Digitalised Healthcare-Telemedicine Centre at Bhambar Tarar on the outskirts of Islamabad on Wednesday, marking another important milestone in the federal government’s efforts to modernise Pakistan’s healthcare system and fulfill its commitments to the nation.
He said the government was ensuring timely fulfillment of promises made to the people, with continuous and practical steps being taken to strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.
The minister said last month, the government signed a landmark agreement with “Sehat Kahani”, under which 5,000 online doctors will provide medical consultations remotely. He added that doctors based abroad, including in Qatar, are already examining patients online through telemedicine centers in Karachi. Also, qualified female doctors who were previously unable to practice after marriage are now actively providing healthcare services from their homes through this innovative system.
