LAHORE:A man was shot dead by his nephew in Satto Katla area. According to police, the incident occurred in a private housing society where the victim was shot by his nephew. The injured man was taken to Lahore Jinnah Hospital, where he died. Police registered a case. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had previously assaulted the victim with sticks on December 25 and later shot him, reportedly in an attempt to seize control of the family property.
Police arrested a man for making a false robbery call to the police helpline 15 in the Saggian area.The caller, identified as Shakeel, reported that two armed men riding a motorcycle had robbed him of Rs11,000 at gunpoint before fleeing the scene. A team from Saggian police outpost responded and conducted a verification of the reported incident. However, no evidence of a robbery was found at the location. Police also reviewed footage from Safe City cameras in the area, which did not show any such incident. During questioning, the caller admitted that he had made a false report. Police said Shakeel confessed that he had spent money he was supposed to give to his family and, under pressure from relatives, fabricated the robbery story to conceal the loss. Police registered a case against the suspect and took him into custody.
Model Town police arrested a rickshaw driver allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles from various markets.
Investigators said the accused, identified as Irshad, used his rickshaw as a cover to conduct surveillance on parked motorcycles in markets. Police stated that the suspect would park his rickshaw near parking areas, monitor citizens and seize motorcycles when he found an opportunity.
