ISLAMABAD: Sameer Minhas’ cricketing journey began on the tiled floor of his home, where taped tennis balls and wet tiles simulated pace and swing. Guided by his father and inspired by elder brother Arafat Minhas, Sameer moved swiftly from street cricket to structured pathways.

He represented Multan Region at U13, captained South Punjab U13 to the final, and progressed through Southern Punjab U16 before earning selection in the PCB’s 100-player programme. After a challenging start at U19 level, Sameer rebounded emphatically, scoring over 400 runs in the National U19 Cup to secure his Pakistan U19 cap.

His rise peaked with a match-winning century in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup final against India and a record-breaking hundred in the recently concluded tri-series in Zimbabwe. Despite personal milestones, Sameer credits team unity as Pakistan U19’s greatest strength.

As the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup approaches, his ambition is clear: “Our goal is to win the World Cup. Personally, I want to contribute and aim for player of the tournament.” Inspired by AB de Villiers, Sameer thanked fans for their support and expressed confidence in Pakistan U19’s chances on the world stage.
