LAHORE: Pakistan women’s cricket team has begun an intensive training camp at the National Stadium, Karachi, under the mentorship of former fast bowler Wahab Riaz. The camp is designed to sharpen the squad’s skills and prepare them for upcoming international competitions.

The focus of the programme is on enhancing the players’ batting, bowling, and fielding abilities, with structured drills aimed at improving technical precision and tactical awareness. In addition to on-field practice, the players are undergoing rigorous fitness sessions, including gym workouts, jogging, and swimming, to build stamina and overall conditioning.

Wahab Riaz, alongside his coaching team, is conducting four- to five-hour daily sessions, ensuring that each player receives tailored guidance to fine-tune her game. The comprehensive approach reflects the PCB’s commitment to strengthening women’s cricket and equipping the national side with the tools needed to compete at the highest level.

“The camp is a crucial step in bridging performance gaps and instilling confidence in the squad, as Pakistan looks to make a strong impression in its forthcoming international fixtures,” stated Wahab.
